THE SCIENCE OF FACIAL AGING
Your face reveals your biological age
Advanced Biological Age Estimation through AI Technology.
Explore the science behind face-derived age and the FAHR-Face model family. A facial age estimate offers a perspective on your portrait; it is not a clinical measurement of biological age.

01
Consent
Review the information about the test, how your photo is processed, and the limits of an age estimate. Before submitting, confirm that you are an adult, the photo is yours, and you agree to the stated processing.
02
Account & Credits
Sign in and buy credits: $10 for 30, $20 for 100 or $50 for 500. Each face age test uses 10 credits. Pay through Stripe and keep your results in your account.
03
Photo Capture
Take a clear, front-facing photo with your device, or upload an existing portrait. Use even light, a neutral expression and no heavy filters. Preview the image, choose a pack, and submit when you are ready.
One successful estimate uses one test. Your selected photo stays in your browser until you confirm submission.
THE SCIENCE BEHIND THE MODEL
What is FAHR-Face?
Biological Age vs. Chronological Age
Chronological age is the time since you were born. Biological age is a broader research concept describing physiological condition and the aging process, which can differ between people of the same chronological age. FaceAge researchers investigate whether patterns learned from facial photographs can provide an accessible aging-related signal. A predicted age from a photograph is not, by itself, a complete measure of the body's condition.
Why does this matter?
In the published FaceAge cancer cohorts, higher face-derived age was associated with poorer survival, even after adjustment for other clinical factors. This suggests that facial photographs may contain information relevant to research on aging and prognosis. These are associations observed in defined study populations—not proof that a younger-looking selfie means better health, or a prediction of an individual person's lifespan. The findings motivate further validation rather than replacing clinical assessment. [1]
What can facial age help us understand?
Face-derived age provides a way to explore facial aging across photographs and over time. Published studies investigate its relationship with health conditions, lifestyle and long-term outcomes. Repeated photographs add context beyond a single image. Your personal report records an age estimate for the submitted portrait, helping you compare your own results while keeping the underlying science in perspective.
Your privacy is protected
Your selected photo stays in your browser until you submit it. Portraits are processed by our self-hosted FAHR-FaceAge service on Hugging Face. Your account stores the age estimate and test record, not the original portrait in our database. Your report history is private to your account. The privacy notice explains how photographs, account details and payment information are handled.
Return for a new portrait or choose photos from different periods of your life. Repeated measurements can build a personal record of face-derived estimates, while keeping the effects of lighting, pose and model changes in mind.
Daily FaceAge Variation
See how your FaceAge estimates vary from one day to another.
Take a photo with your device and choose it in the studio, or upload an existing image.
Find your completed age estimates in your private report history, available when you sign in.
Return on another day and compare the recorded estimates using similar framing and lighting.
Sleep, stress, expression, makeup and capture conditions may affect appearance. A day-to-day change does not establish a change in biological age or prove a lifestyle effect.
Historical FaceAge Variation
Explore estimates from photographs taken at different stages of your life.
Select your own historical photos and submit each portrait as a separate test.
Review each successful estimate in your account; one completed estimate uses one test.
Compare your estimates alongside each photo's capture date and your age at the time.
Historical portraits offer a perspective on long-term facial change. Use clear photographs with similar lighting and framing for a more consistent comparison.

A FEW THINGS TO KNOW
Curiosity, with clarity.
What happens to my photo?+
Your photo is previewed locally before submission. When you start a test, it is sent to our FAHR-FaceAge service on Hugging Face. We save the estimate and test record to your account, not the original portrait in our database. See the privacy notice for processing details.
How many credits does a test use?+
Each test reserves 10 credits and settles on success. Confirmed failures release the credits. Uncertain submissions remain reserved while reconciled to avoid duplicate charges.
Is this a subscription?+
These are one-time credit packs: $10 for 30 credits, $20 for 100, or $50 for 500. Purchased credits do not expire or renew automatically and are shared across your signed-in devices.
How long will I wait?+
You can follow processing in the studio and check the status in your report history. The completed estimate is saved to your account so you can return to it later.
