Privacy Policy

Scope

This notice covers the independent FAHR FACE appearance-age service. It does not cover the original Harvard FaceAge study or its website. Last updated: October 21, 2026.

Before you start a test

Selecting a portrait creates a local browser preview. Selecting a file alone does not upload it to our application server or model service. Signing in and buying a pack do not submit the selected photo. Only start a test if you are at least 18 and the photograph depicts you.

Portrait processing

Starting a test requires your express confirmation. Your JPEG, PNG or WebP (up to 8 MB) passes through our server to our self-hosted FAHR-FaceAge model service on Hugging Face. Files receive an anonymous filename, but embedded metadata is not stripped; remove location or other metadata before uploading if desired.

We do not intentionally store the original portrait in our application database or object storage. We store the result, job status, processing identifiers, consent version and timestamps to deliver the test and reconcile failures. Hosted infrastructure may process request data and operational logs under its own retention policies. A submission whose outcome is unknown remains pending until reconciled.

Read Hugging Face's privacy policy for information about the model-hosting infrastructure. Processing may take place outside your country. This service is not intended for confidential clinical images or medical records.

Accounts, payments and infrastructure

We store account details, password hashes, sessions, order records and test allowances. Stripe processes payment details through embedded checkout; our application does not receive full card numbers. Cloudflare provides hosting when the service is deployed there and processes requests and security-related data. Essential cookies support authentication and language preferences.

Use and access

Data is used to deliver results, confirm purchases, prevent duplicate charges or tests, address abuse and respond to support requests. Your report history requires your account. We do not provide a public portrait gallery, sell portraits or use this application to train our own model.

Retention and your requests

Account, order and report records remain until deletion is requested or operational/legal retention requires otherwise. There is no automated report-expiry schedule in the current service. Use account support to request access, correction, export or deletion. Some payment records must be retained for accounting, disputes or legal obligations; third-party deletion is subject to their policies.
